Don't Live Photos record sound now too?

Talking with someone on speakerphone works, so recording and playing sound at the same time is not a technical impossibility.

If the user doesn't want music in the video (or live photo), they can stop the music themselves. This is just Apple babysitting. Wanting to do something the non Apple way means you are "holding it wrong".

Can you imagine the outcry from some people if Apple didn't mute the music automatically. Some people would find it unbelievable that Apple was so stupid for thinking anyone would want the music they were playing to be recorded on their video/livephoto.

then the simple solution is to have a switch in settings... whether to turn off music for camera or no

In my experience iOS devices have Always done this. I remember it on my 4S and the 6 even when the 6s Live Photos were but a twinkle in Tim Cook's eye.

Happened all the time when I was out for a jog along the water listening to headphones and saw a nice sunset or something. Anyway, it's certainly a feature I would like... alongside a non busted ankle so I can run again :(

I have noticed this already, although I personally think this is stupid, but not a deal breaker.
I sometimes take live photo, sometimes take still photo. Nothing much serious.
What I hate for so-called live photo is everyone can see the huge resolution difference between that "short video" and still picture. Too obvious. If Apple ever wanted to make it better, they should record 1080P in here.
Apple's DAC might be really bad, but the sound is what I like. I mean, Apple current DAC can produce my most favorite sound when playing music. And I also hate Apple removing headphone jack. If this is ever the case, I would use iPad Pro to listen to music and carry it all around all day long, and buy a cheap android phone for phone call etc.

jiu jitsu
I assume this is from Japanese, but I don't know what they are.

My SE does this and I HATE it.

Almost a deal breaker. I am always listening to music and not only does it stop the music but it causes the connection to my Bluetooth speaker to get wonky also. Usually it disconnect and I have to reconnect just because I open the camera?

I have had Live Photos turned off since I bought this thing - they are POINTLESS to me.

I'm pretty sad about this glitch. It's a glitch.

OP here. I got an email today telling me people are still commenting in this thread. Which is funny because just yesterday my girlfriend noted to me that she is sick of the music stopping on her 6S every time she wants to take a picture. The whole thing really is crap. It's quite disruptive.

Perhaps everyone needs to complain to Apple. I know they probably won't listen. But it couldn't hurt. Click here and let's voice our tiny opinions. http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html

I got an iPhone 6 so no Live Photos but just wondered what happens when you manually start playing music after opening Camera on photo mode?

When I do this on Camera video mode the video just remains frosted which sucks. (9.3.2)

I thought this only happened when recording videos which makes sense in most scenarios.

I hate this as well, before Live Photos if I recorded a video the music would stop, which is expected. However taking a Photo music would still play, which is great. Now With Live Photos even taking a photo causes the music to stop, even if I disable Live Photos. I hate this because I could be streaming music and wanna take a pic then Bam Music stops. Hopefully they make it so if Live Photos in Enabled it'll stop the music since it's technically taking a video, however with Live Photos disabled give us our music!

Well, as the thread seems to suggest, it appears that live photos has added another wrinkle to it.

Yeah. I notice this when I make a phone call with my parents. Phone call voice does not stop.
But, should this require special hardware support? I suppose this should. Otherwise there is no need to add cellu...uh, still unsure.
