YESSSSS.

YESSSSS

i can't comment on them.

Bullet For My Valentine? All That Remains? I don't know if that's exactly what you're looking for, thought i'd just throw it out there for t3h lulz.

Too emo for this thread. ;)

GWAR - its fun

Amon Amarth - Most songs sound the same (viking metal)
Dethklok - first album (brtual growls)
Arsis - Sick drummer
Opeth - It's mellow, melodic and interesting.
Battle Angels by Sanctuary - it's fun to laugh over specifically 1:47

I'll have more in a bit...I'm being beckoned now.

Just want to add a couple ways to 'try out' music.

You will need an internet connection. Get Pandora, type in an artist and listen. Find one you like? Go on Youtube and search the artist name.

If you want to really get creative. Type the artist into Amazon, then view their albums. You can sample 30 seconds on their site to get an idea of the album. Then go to YouTube and check out the full length songs.

Amazon also has a 'people who viewed this bought this' selection that you can check out.

That's what I've been doing. It's especially hard going into a new genre, trying to find what music you like.

Wirelessly posted (iPod touch 2nd gen: Mozilla/5.0 (iPod; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_2_1 like Mac OS X; fr-fr) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8C148 Safari/6533.18.5)

You may want to try some Tool. Definitely not for everyone though.

Not sure if it's considered Metal, but Every Time I Die is awesome.

Also, look into Unearth and The Showdown.

Not on the list but I'm sure you already listen to them: Anthrax, Megadeth and Metallica, after getting all of their albums I really haven't listened to much else :p

I have very similar music tastes as you..

But listen to Straight Line Stitch. I know your not into female singers, but Alexis is amazing!

As far as Devildriver, IMO their first two cd's are the best. But you do have to listen to them 4-5 times to get into them..Sin and Sacrifice is amazing!

Opeth is another band I am a huge fan of, but again, you have to almost pick one cd, for me preferably their two newest, Ghost Reveries and Watershed, listen to one song a day, 2-3 times, and you will start to fall in love. Their songs are just so long and in depth, you can't casually listen to them.

Somebody beat me to it. Gojira is freaking killer band!

Also look at:

Amon Amarth
Arkaea
Black Label Society (not as heavy but still some good songs)
Bloodsimple
Carcass (going old school)
soulfly
Damage plan
Down
Superjoint Ritual
Epidemic (Decameron)
God Forbid
Iced Earth (Maybe, maybe not, I really like these guys)
Isis (You might not like these guys, they are almost along the lines of Opeth)
Katatonia
Killswitch Engage
Kittie (I know you don't like female singers but they are just a tad different)
Otep (see kittie)
Strapping Young Lad
Testament (See Demonic!!)
Throwdown
Spineshank
Soil
Sepultura
Godflesh
Paradise Lost (Depends on which album you hear, older stuff tends to be a little heavier)
Obituary
Mushroomhead
Morbid Angel (Listen to the album Covenant then move on to the others)
Cannibal Corpse
Six Feet Under

Those are the ones off the top of my head.

You already mentioned Fear Factory, they are my favorite band!

You posted Obituary :) Man, the memories.

Once they where performing in Amsterdam and they blew a fuse with the soundcheck. Not the regular fuses, but a big one, the type you need some diploma's for to mess with. So they asked: 'Is there an electrician in the house?'

Well, it was the first time, and probably the only time in my life an audience applauded for me in one of Hollands biggest musictemples. :)

(I hated being an electrician, i did that work for less than 9 months before going back to school to get some more education)

There is this place called paradiso and it's an old church. The atmosphere is pretty awesome with the huge windows behind the podium.

OK, I've added more.. though I haven't parsed rhett7660's suggestions yet.

I randomly discovered Kylessa today. OK, so they have a female backup singer and a keyboardist.. but 2 drummers and some good pounding metal riffs. I'm not really into so-called sludge-metal, but they're pretty solid so far.

You seem to be into nu-metal.

Let me rack my brain...

Nothingface
Reveille
Dry Kill Logic
American Headcharge
Mushroomhead
40 Below Summer
Taproot
Nonpoint
Ill Nino
Union Underground
Otep
Crossbreed
Factory 81
Darwin's Waiting Room
Slaves on Dope
Shuvel
systematic
The Deadlights
Endo
Switched
Mnemic
Simon Says
Skinlab

Had to have amazon help me out a bit with recommendations based on the few I remembered.

Love:

Opeth
Chimaira
Straight Line Stitch
Dry Kill Logic
Devildriver
Machine Head
Five Finger Death Punch
Slipknot

Really Like:

New In Flames
New Soilwork
Bleed The Sky
Cavalera Conspiracy
Fear Factory
Scar Symmetry
Spineshank

Not bad but can't get really into:

Gojira
Divine Heresey
Daath
Lamb of God
