Apple Music Music Unavailable

So yesterday I tried playing an album on my iPhone, one that I purchased and loaded into iTunes match years before Apple Music ever existed. When I click on the tracks I get this error message: "This item cannot be downloaded. The item you have requested is not available for download."

What is going on here and how can I get past this? I own this album. It does not exist on Apple Music.

You will probably have to use your original files if it is no longer allowed to be downloaded by the music license holder. This is out of Apple's hands.

So the license holder can forbid me from using iTunes Match & Apple Music? This is really odd as the album I am talking about is from the mid 1980's, from a tiny, certainly out of business college label. This band sank like a stone after their first album, never to be heard from again.

The license holder owns the rights and can do pretty much anything they want. The catalog was likely brought or acquired by a larger label and something didn't meet their requirements or standards.
