Hello,

I currently use Garageband for basic recording and I like messing around wih the synths etc. using musical typing (where you use the mac keyboard to play notes) as I don't currently have a midi controller and it's much simpler than clicking in every note.

However, I am looking to upgrade to Logic (probably express) for the extra flexibility and to make some half decent recordings. Can you still use musical typing in Logic in the same way as Garageband or do you actually need a physical keyboard or controller?

Thanks!

Yes, you just need to have caps lock on and the little keyboard appears on your screen and you type away.
