The problem is I keep buying them every year! Until another company has an end to end solution of powerful hardware and software, Apple is the best.
Question…

What are you doing with your phone that requires you to have ever more powerful hardware and software every year?

I suspect you probably use your phone for things that are more in line with using a computer such as gaming and/or work applications that require that. Most people do it seems.

For me, nothing I do with my phone (calls, email, texts, light web browsing) has changed since 2009 so this 'upgrade every year for the most powerful and bestest' has never been a thing for me.

I use actual computers for gaming, TVs for shows, etc. But, I have access to anywhere from 10-20+ computers and devices 24/7 at work or home so that lets me use my phone as I describe above.

That's funny. My X still operates flawlessly with no hang up's or performance issues.

Congratulations! That’s great.

You can also tell by looking at this forum. Most of these questions were answered a year ago on the last release but we will watch is all get re-hashed again! This is only the beginning.

Seems to happen every year. Maybe it is just my set up. They are not major issues at all. I am simply saying for me the phone works flawlessly and about this time there are weird minor issues. Nothing that cannot be fixed with a simple restart. It was just an observation.

Your perception is a fact/controlled test?

It is a fact that messages hangs up now on my device. The messages move over and you cannot swipe up to get to home screen. So yes, that is a fact.

Another fact is that it is fixed on my device by restarting the phone.

Finally, it is a fact that it started last week on my phone and has happened periodically.

I can’t speak for everyone else. This is just what seems to happen on my device.

They were caught last year. Could happen again.
I suppose anything's possible but I find it highly unlikely considering the controversy it caused last year and the fact that iOS 12 is focused on performance improvements in their current devices, old and new alike.

because.....

There will be a technical difficulty. User error (totally understandable, only human, jeez). Not a big deal, the slow down will be fixed just in time to use the Apple Store app. Rest assured, Apple has your back! ;)

Ok, this is getting old. An oldie but goody! :D

Of course, they could do it again to show how much faster and bug free iOS 12 versus iOS 11. Who knows? Ether way, I am looking forward to the improvements in iOS 12 and the plus size X.

You’re just looking for an excuse to upgrade lol. My iPhone X works perfect. It’s on iOS 11.3.1 I’m about to update it to iOS 12 tho. And gonna keep it for another year.

My X has been perfect since launch day.

Cannot wait to order my Plus (Max?) sized model next week. :D:D

All anecdotal experience from the OP. My iPhone has not slowed down whatsoever in performance, no glitches or issues. And even if there were, they usually are rectified with further iOS updates from Apple in the future. Not every piece of tech is going to be perfect, even when Some allegedly have strange conspiracy theories.
