iPhone 5 will be my first iPhone and I'm wondering what some of you would consider are "must have" apps? Especially interested in free apps, but would love to hear any and all that would be considered essential. Thanks.

Tweetbot if you use Twitter
Instapaper
1Password
Toucharcade
Appshopper
Disc Drivin'

These are the non-Apple apps that grace my main home screen.

I had dozens of apps and recently started over. Here's a few of what I reinstalled first:

Pro HDR
Facebook Camera+
Find My Friends
Flipboard
NPR
Evernote
Omnifocus
Runkeeper
Google Search (good for QR scanning, plus it can solve a photographed sudoku puzzle :D )
Amazon
Apple Store
Flow Powered by Amazon
Remote (Apple)
Google's YouTube App
1Password
Kindle
Toucharcade
Yelp
Waze
Wolfram Alpha

Games/Fun:
Plants vs Zombies
Gauge
Jetpack Joyride
Pocket Planes
The Incident
Gloop

Path is an amazing app, if you have friends on it. Also, Rdio is my choice for streaming music. Better than Spotify is you ask me.

Adding this thread to my reading list. I'm not a new iPhone owner (have owned every version), but I am curious to know what apps other people rely on most. A couple I will throw in as must-haves:

- Twitter
- Facebook
- AP News
- Engadget
- Mac News
- Wikipanion
- IM+
- eBay
- Deliveries (for tracking that next crucial package ;p)
- Pandora
- FlightTrack
- Trip Advisor
- Comixology
- Lose it! (for calorie counting)
- App Advice
- Enigmo

Many, many more but these are some that I use most often...

Wow, just goes to show how expansive the app store really is and how many different lifestyles it fits. I've had my 4 since 2010 and the only apps on your list I've used are twitter (everyday) and pandora (once or twice)

If you email groups of people at once, Mailshot is a must. You create groups from your contacts within the app, then you simply type the name of the group in the email subject, voila, it emails them all. iOS should have this feature, to be honest.

Yep! Hit my 13th 14th and 15th shows this summer in Cleveland and Pittsburgh. Will go to the fall/winter shows in Charlottesville if they do it this year!

How about you?

Yup! Been doing the shows for 15 years. Usually hit about 10 - 15 each tour but did 31 shows this tour!

Thanks everyone for the great suggestions. Looking forward to trying a lot of these out and any others anyone else has to recommend.
