How would that work at college? Would the person working in the mail room sign for it?

At my dorm last year the front desk staff got the packages and put a slip in your box to let you know you had a package.

UPS always rings the bell, and then leaves the package on the porch. The minute I open the door, you can see the UPS truck peeling rubber down the street and my package sitting nicely in front of my door.

The only times I've ever had to sign for a package was with Fedex. Every single time I've had something delivered Fedex, a signature was needed. That's how it was for my MacBook and everything else. Since it's being shipped via Fedex for the iPhone, I can only assume that a signature will be required. Which means I'll have to conscript a household member into staying home and signing... hmmm....

UPS-those guys are magic, by the time you're at the door, they've disappeared. I've literally stood like 10 feet away from the door when they've rung the bell, went to the door to open it, and they were gone. Skills.

when I got my iPhone 4 from AT&T the FedEx driver just rang the doorbell and put the box on the porch and took off in his truck. Of course I was sitting around all day waiting for him so I noticed that he dropped my package off.
