Last I heard, still mainly blown up phone apps. The tablet app market for android is but a barren wasteland.

I don't use Android tablets, but I do know quite a few that do for various fields. I don't think it's a barren wasteland, but there are some very useful apps that compare with the iPad and that are universal in many ways. But the App Store has more exclusivity.

I think the main thing is that the iPad has a different screen ratio than the phones, where most Android tablets share the same ratio. So most app makers on Android figure their phone app is good enough for the tablets, while on iOS they feel obligated to create a dedicated iPad app to at least adjust the screen ratio. Obviously that's not the case for everything, but I think it's one of the main contributing factors.
