While I was waiting for my new rMBA to arrive I kept reading all the comments about the keyboard and the dim screen. I wondered if I had made a mistake ordering it without seeing one in the store first. But I was pleasantly surprised. I feel great about my purchase. I also got the 16GB RAM for the same "future-proofing" reason. Compared to the 2 old MBAs in my house, this one is a great upgrade all the way around.

The screen is amazing after having spent years staring at the old fuzzy ones on the old Airs. But it was a bit of a learning curve for me to get used to the keyboard. I don't find them feeling clacky or cheap... it's just a different tying experience. After typing on it for a few days, I got comfortable with it. I really have nothing to complain about. I only hope this one has the same longevity of the previous models. I've gotten years of trouble-free work out of all my previous Macs... I'm kind of spoiled by that.

I have a question (might be dumb), but does iCloud work between iOS devices and os devices? Like I take a picture with my phone and it adds it to my iPad. Will it work the same way between my iPhone and MacBook Air when/if I get one?

Indeed it does. It works the same exact way.

When the new keyboard came out I went to the store and tried it, even the girl who was showing me was like "Not upgrading are you?" after she seen me use it. I eventually gave in and bought a new MBP when the 3rd gen version came out. Honestly, I have got used to it, I don't shout about it being this or that but I find I am as quick as I ever was on previous keyboards.

Yes it should...if you take a photo with your phone, it will show up in Photos on your MBA, and your iPad. Of course all your devices have to be signed in to the same Apple ID and your iCloud settings should be the same on all the devices. When it's all set up uniformly and syncing properly you can use the "Hand Off" feature... in other words, you are browsing a particular web site on your iPad but you decide you need to view it on your laptop..you select the Hand Off icon to the far left of your dock and now what was on the iPad is on your Macbook. Biggest mistake I see from friends and family complaining that their information has been screwed up by Apple is that they are using multiple Apple IDs.
