    The title says it all...

Less than 1yr old: here's two snapshots.

The first one: before doing Sync it shows almost 4gb of free space, after 759mb.

I also attach a snapshot of my phone: when I check the Capacity I get 5.3gb....help!!

    What's going on?

    Thanks!!

First things first: there are no 12gb iPhones. In your screenshot it clearly says that it's an 8gb one. 5.3 gb available space (it doesn't include the space iOS takes up in that screen) is the correct amount for an 8gb iPhone 5c

Like Soy said there are no 12gb iPhones, and if you look at the first picture on the top left where it shows a picture of you Phone it clearly says 8gb.

Avoid 16GB iPhones. Go with 32GB minimum. Use Cloud storage. Go into storage to see what apps are greedy - using memory. Remember, a 16GB phone starts with 12GB, because of the stock apps (apps that come with the phone) which use memory etc.

There's never enough storage. The moral of the story is Don't Buy the Low-End Model unless you want to constantly be fiddling with what you keep on your iPhone.

Overall that's all definitely good advice to at least consider. That said, there are certainly people who use their devices differently than many that don't have many apps and don't really have music or other media and only take some occasional photos or videos and for them a 16 GB can be just fine without even really ever worrying about the space on it.

Just an opinion here: kind of like how you (or I ) seem to make way to many trips to goodwill.... I saved way to much on my phone. Too many pictures, too many videos, and too many unused apps. I got my wife a 64g phone, but I kind of like having only 16g. Makes me delete stuff.

It's getting harder to get by with 16 though, that's for sure.
