My battery has over 75% health left and only 195 cycles.
Sure the computer isn't brand spanking new but wouldn't that be considered a defect ? and a safety hazard as well ? :(
I am extremely disappointed and worried.

Go to the iFixit web site and order the battery replacement kit and replace the battery yourself. It is not too hard to do.

They have very informative DIY guides that provide step-by-step directions to get the job done. If you can read and understand the pictures then you can do this. It is that easy :)

The expanding battery is not considered a defect and is part of normal wear and tear. Battery health is a function of time and cycles.

Yes, it is a safety hazard so you would take care of this as soon as possible because, if the battery continues to expand, it may permanently warp the casing and damage the internal components.

Apple will not accept the MacBook in its current condition for trade-in purposes.

iFixit labels that battery replacement guide for your early 2015 13-inch MBPro as "Difficult", but you can read through the guide and decide if is something that you can do.
A swelling battery can suddenly get worse, perhaps permanently damaging the case/trackpad. You should go ahead with that repair as soon as you can.

You should contact Apple. They may only charge you the out of warranty battery replacement fee, and you'd get a brand new keyboard/trackpad/top case out of it.

OP:

An expanding battery is a both a fire and an explosion hazard.
You do not want to leave it like this!

Do you have a brick-n-mortar Apple Store anywhere near?
If so, make an appt. and take it to the genius bar.
They can replace the battery and get it back to where it should be.
They MAY charge you for the job. It should be $199 which includes parts and labor. THIS IS A BARGAIN for what you get, so if they want it, smile and pay.

If you DO NOT HAVE AN APPLE STORE near you, then call Apple directly.
DO NOT call or take the MBP to a "3rd-party" service provider.
CALL APPLE.
They will send you a prepaid shipping box to send them the computer, and do the job, and then return it to you.

DON'T WAIT to do this.
Go to the Apple Store or call them right away.

"My 2015 Macbook Pro 13in Battery is expanding and the trackpad is lifting"

wowzers, i replaced several of these batteries, and the process is involved and tedious but not impossible.
if you feel comfortable repairing things, i say go for it!
just give yourself some time, track all those screws, and be very careful of the circuit boards and speakers-
we broke one off, and had to give the macbook pro, well just be careful.
the adhesive part is annoying, and made me realize they did not want anyone to replace batteries anymore say like a macbook air where the latch popped up and you were good to go.
good luck, that macbook pro is great even today!

I replaced two batteries in May at the Apple Store, a 2014 and a 2015. The 2015 had the expanding battery. They charged $200 and also replaced the trackpad, keycaps and top cover. I made genius bar appointments, brought them in and got them back in two or three days.
