I was very surprised by this. Does that mean that Apple are doing more assemblies in the US, or could it be that they've upped their QC regimen to inspect all iMacs at home base before sending them out?
It perhaps just means they had stock in a warehouse in California.

They do assemble some iMacs in the US. Once it arrives, it will be stated on the box and on the bottom of the stand of the actual iMac where it was assembled![]()
@CaptMike: Pray tell, what are the country codes? Do you perhaps have a link?Also, the country of manufacture can be decoded by the units serial number
