So Im buying a macbook pro and here are my options please choose one.

Option number 1: Buy base 13" macbook pro from institute for 1074 + free ipod. ( upgrade ram later) (upgrade harddrive)

Option number two... buy 2.26 macbook pro from apple and upgrade the ram to 4gb and 250 gb hd for 1350 + free printer (no ipod)

Option number 3... buy 2.56 13" macbook pro + ipod from instutute for 1374.

What option should i choose there all looking pretty darn good?

You don't delineate the speed of the MBP on option 1 but I'd go with that.

Its always cheaper to upgrade the components yourself then getting them from apple. I'm pretty sure you can upgrade the ram and HD for under 300 bucks thus saving you $$ in the long run.

It's the base model so that would be 2.26GHz.

I'd say option 3, many will say that it's better to buy the 2.26 and upgrade the RAM and HD from a 3rd party seller and install (or get it done for you). But i'm a big fan of getting as high a spec of the things you can't replace when they're cheaper later i.e. The processor.

I would go with option 3 and sell the iPod to upgrade the ram. What kind of iPod is it?

The 2.53 already has 4GB of RAM and to upgrade to 6 or 8 is gonna take a fairly large chuck of change which won't fully be covered by the ipod savings (anywhere near for 8GB).
