iPhone My 6 Plus does not have Weather animations.

I got my 6 Plus in January (upgraded from the normal 6) and It came with iOS 8.1.

I noticed the animations we're not working when I was entering my city and others I visit frequently. I thought it was a UI bug or something because of the downscaling process of the 6 Plus and an update will fix it.

8.1.1 came out and I upgraded, then 8.1.2, 8.1.3 and now 8.2. Same problem. I got a little mad and restored the device and I still have the bug.

I got used to them with my 5s on 7.x and my 6 on 8.x. and now it drives me crazy. Well, not really but I don't like it.
Mind you, I'm not jailbroken.

What can I do ?
Should I upgrade to 8.3 beta ? How is it ?

I only hear of that when Reduce Motion is on, is yours on as you haven't mentioned it?

Reduce motion does indeed disable these animations. Turn off reduce motion in Settings > General > Accessibility > Reduce Motion > Off

It'll also disable parallax effects in apps such as Safari and Whatsapp.

Is Display Zoom on? That's the only other thing I can think of that would cause this problem.

Nope.. It's default.
Damn, this is so strange.

iphone 6 plus 8.2 here, mine animates. the clouds are moving.
even the stars and cloud in Oradea are moving.
maybe you can flip the switch Reduce Motion to on, then off?
