My apple ID isn't an email address...

Hello all,

I've gone ahead and upgraded, but I cant set up the icloud because there are apparent issues with my apple ID. My apple ID that I've been using for some 7 years now, is not an email address... it's just a username. So, how do I register for icloud? If I set up a new apple ID, wont that de-authorize everything I have purchased, downloaded, setup, etc....?

I also had to do that today.
I logged in at www.icloud.com and after entering my appleid is suggested i needed to alter it so i followed the provided link.

Might be able to log into your account from iTunes and alter it there.

nope it knows somehow. i have changed mine a few times and no problems
