I just saw a picture of another Mac lamp in a Mac magazine (forgot the name- one of the big ones.)

A guy took an old Mac classic: tore the guts out, put blue covers over the floppy drive, power light and monitor with an Apple logo added. It looks really nice when lit up.

MacFan magazine maybe? I think it was in the letters to the editor section...

special thanks to me for selling him the bezel
nice work man A++ for creativity

iTorch- Take the botton part of a G4 iMac, take the LCD and the hinge thing and get a peice of PVC for the stand. Cut the flat part of the bottom off and rip out all of its guts and put in a light. Get another G4 iMac, take off its head, and put it on the bottom of the PVC as a stand.

iPod nightlight?

Ye, good one. The iMac G4 is half way to a good desklap as it is!

i tried it but the night light i got from Target didnt fit it was to long, so i have to go there again to get a smaller one. I tried it on the white pro mouse, the light did illuminate throgh the white well, so having the night light is like not having it at all.
Can you Dremel part of it away to make it thin enough for light to get through?

I like the iSconce name!
Blue (as suggested by wdlove) would be cool, but "choose your own" color filters would make it more personal. Like a mood-ring, but so much more obvious! Would be hard to mis-interpret unless you're color blind.

Anyway, very very, very cool light! If the iBook had to be put down, this is a beautiful homage.

No, put he could take that stuff that removes the white paint inside (how people do and then paint it) and it would essentially be clear with the white apple!

So that's what they have done with my broken iBook. I thoughtit was in for repair!

Nice job dude.

that is the coolest thing i have seen in a longtime, where did you get that light that fit it so perfectly? awesome creation!
