Last night while watching The Black Panther, I had a weird adrenaline sensation in my chest (during an action packed scene) and then it went away. This morning I noticed I had my first Elevated Heart Rate notification while watching the movie. Here’s a few things to note...

My threshold is actually set at 100bpm (I lowered it when I bought the watch), is that the normal threshold or should it be higher?

As you can see in the pictures below, from 7:02 to 7:12 I had three readings over 100bpm (133bpm max to 90bpm min) while watching the film.

Is this something I should be concerned about or did this happen because I lowered the threshold to 100bpm (from the Standard setting) and was watching an action packed movie (where I’m sure my heart got racing) lol.

Just thought I’d ask since I’ve never received this notification before and actually visited a cardiologist a few months back (they did and EKG, Echocardiogram and Tilt Table Test) and everything was normal. Thanks!

In the middle of several books.
It is normal to have an elevated heart rate when watching action movies where you have inserted yourself (mentally) into the ongoing drama.

If you had an elevated heart rate during slumber or sleeping on a regular basis, that would be cause for a concern.

I don’t think 100 bpm is all that high.

I’ve also read that during the NFL playoff there were times that many fans got this notification at clutch moments, so while it’s interesting, I probably wouldn’t lose sleep over it.
