My boss doesn't want to delete emails twice...

    Hey guys, my boss came to me with a problem on his new Macbook Pro... Outlook 2011 doesn't seem to sync properly with his iPhone 4.

    So when he deletes an email from his iPhone, he wants it to also be deleted from Outlook 2011, which doesn't happen. It irritates him because whenever he opens his laptop, he needs to re-delete all the emails he already deleted on his iPhone 4.

    Is there any solution for that problem?

    Does your boss use an email service using IMAP or POP3?

    Yep, both Gmail and another University-based email service.

    The question is

    POP or IMAP

    You might want to get IT to set up IMAP if you don't know what those are.

    You didn't answer the question though. Is the account an IMAP account, or a POP account? There's no getting around his problem if it is a POP account.

    IMAP is definitely the way to go.

    Got it. I'll see if I can enable IMAP on the University-account. I know it's doable on Gmail.

    It's probably irrelevant w.r.t. the Gmail account, unless you guys are doing something odd there (e.g. not accessing it directly but downloading your Gmail via POP3).
