I got my brand new Mac Pro 16 inc 2019 today, When I unbox it and try to turn it on the display shows that the battery is empty (Red empty battery icon).

I plug the charger to the wall and to my Mac (usb-type C) try to turn it on again, it shows the same icon and won't to turn on.

I leave it connected about 2 houre then try to turn it on but unfortunately same thing.

Any help :(

Sounds like it might be DOA. If you have another power adapter that you could try I would give that a shot. Otherwise you're probably going to end up having to send it back to Apple for a replacement.

Definitely second the idea of trying a different charger if you have one. I would also suggest an SMC reset. In the machine’s current state, I think you can only do the first step of the procedure linked below which is hold the power button for ten seconds.

+1 on the SMC reset.

Also, if it was completely dead it’s still going to need a certain charge threshold before it will turn on for you even when plugged in.

Do the SMC, unplug and plug it back in, give it 20 minutes to ensure a minimum charge is reached. Try to boot and let us know how it goes.

I know the machine has been connected for 2 hours, but the key here is to do the SMC THEN let it charge for a bit.

I try the steps but nothing happens, I will try to find another charger to test it.

Friend, if it’s brand new don’t bother with all these fix it tips - just take it back to the store or where you bought it from. What’s to say you get it working then tomorrow it’s doing the same thing.

The problem is that I purchased it from Dubai, and took a about month to arrive ?

I second the idea about returning. Return and get a new Mac.

I tryied to SMC reset then follow your steps but still the same, tring another USB-C charger (Mac Air) but nothing change the device still won’t turn on ?
