Well this whole thing certainly does suck for you--and hopefully you will get your new replacement and it will be great. But I guess for the most part as far as Apple support is concerned--well I have to think it falls under the stuff happens category. Not that it is good that stuff like this happens but that if this happened to every single person who contacted Apple--or even a good percentage of those who contact Apple--well this would be a big problem for everyone--and Apple too. But unfortunately when you involve people, they inevitably screw up from time to time and this kind of disconnect happens. Hopefully you will be a happy Apple customer once again when your new MP arrives. :)

I'm glad it worked out. For the most part I am still happy dealing with Apple as opposed to a lot of other companies out there.
They generally do try and work things out, and try and make it right.

For all the folks that ask about going to an Apple Store - they are present in large cities, but I live in a city with over 500,000 people and the nearest one is about 300 miles away. I am sure I am not alone. My choices are online or Best Buy - but then no customization.

Lastly, any experience I have had with Apple has been better than any experience that I have had with Microsoft. My experiences with them is how many different ways can they tell you they understand, but can't / won't do any thing to help you.
