This would likely never happen but below is my dream for the March iPad Pro event. Sadly, there is no technical barrier to do this and I would buy in a heartbeat.. c'mon Apple.

2021 iPad Pro 11"/12.9" - A14X, 6GB RAM, 5G LTE option
2021 iPad Pro Max 12.9" - M1, 8GB/16GB, 5G LTE option, Mini LED.

The Max would come bundled with Magic Keyboard 2.0 (press a button and the hinge swivels 360 degrees to use in tablet mode)
The Max would have bootcamp ability to boot iPadOS 14 or Big Sur (touchscreen disabled)

Jon Prosser must've taken a look at your post.

Will likely get the 11 inch iPad pro even if it doesn’t come with mini led..think will sort my combo of devices better than 12.9

I don’t want Big Sur support on my iPad, just sort iPad OS out!! As for M1 chip - why?? The iPad is already fan less and the apps are very snappy on my 2020 IPP. I can see why people want more RAM (but I have not hit those barriers) and definitely 5G for those who would/can make use of it.

True multi screen support (not mirroring) would be a great addition. Widgets too would be great, far more useful than on a phone as the screens are so much bigger but this is iPad OS dependant not hardware. Plus, a landscape camera (as well as portrait).

Yup Mr Proseer is just correcting his last failed guess to the next well known month in which Apple did iPad things in the past. Luckily he didn’t claim to have personally seen the prototype this time around.

I’ve kinda given up on iPadOS as a real productivity OS. I just can’t do my normal workflows on it. Poor file management, lack of moveable windows, limited multitasking. Plus very few vendors make their iPadOS feature parity with the Windows/MacOS version and I’m not only talking about MS Office - even apps like Spotify lack features the desktop app has. Also Apple - it’s time to let us manage our music libraries from iPad - you can’t add music unless its from the iTunes Store which without lossless isn’t archival quality audio.

I am all for beefing up the 12.9 as that’s my preferred device but I don’t expect them to run anything but standard iPadOS. Anything else will be like admitting defeat for Apple. Although they seemed to have learned a lesson on MacBook keyboards and were able to reverse their products from the last couple years, so there’s hope.

The M1 though is likely exclusively for Macs as far as I have understood Apple’s naming scheme here.

I would love an "iPad Pro Max" with a 15 inch screen. I have a 13 inch MacBook Pro 2020 and an 11 inch iPad Pro 2018 and I have found that I can get everything in my workflow done using just my iPad Pro (with Smart Keyboard Folio and Apple Pencil). I love the versatility of using the iPad, being able to quickly and simply attach it to the keyboard when I need it, or unattach it when I don't. For me it's the ultimate setup for both productivity and leisure, being able to use it pretty much anywhere for work or entertainment. But I want the screen real estate of a nice big 15 inch screen, and I'd get the compatible Magic Keyboard with it--and I'm willing to pay big bucks for the entire setup if Apple would actually make it!

I would also love an "iPad Pro mini". As I've had almost every iPad iteration, I've had almost every iPad mini; I use them primarily as e-readers and I'm itching for a new one that doesn't look like every single iPad mini from the very first generation! I love the look and feel and features of my iPad Pro and would love it in the mini form.

So my dream (and it will probably stay a dream) March iPad Pro event would reveal a 15 inch iPad Pro Max and an iPad Pro mini (an iPad mini with slim bezels, Face ID and flat sides/edges). Please, Apple! My Apple Card is ready and waiting!

The M1 is partly branding with certain Mac-required features (e.g. better external bandwidth).

If you look at the A14 Geekbench scores, we can expect A14X/Z will be similar in performance to the M1.

GB5 single-core
1100 A12 (2 big + 4 little)
1100 A12X (4 big + 4 little)
1100 A12Z (4 big + 4 little)
1300 A13 (2 big + 4 little)
1600 A14 (2 big + 4 little)
1700 M1 (4 big + 4 little)

GB5 multi-core
2800 A12 (2 big + 4 little)
3300 A13 (2 big + 4 little)
4200 A14 (2 big + 4 little)
4600 A12X (4 big + 4 little)
4600 A12Z (4 big + 4 little)
7300 M1 (4 big + 4 little)

His accuracy is pretty good, so I wouldn't immediately ignore what he is saying.

I do see them doing similar to iPhone 12 with both iPad and MacBook.
A pro and pro Max.

iPad will never have MacOS.
March won’t be iPad, that will happen in October.

True that. He has good and bad moments and moments where he’s just making it up. I think ultimately it’s pretty balanced between the three.

It’s the secret MR rule - if you don’t state your opinion as if it were facts you’re not one of the cool people

In the short term, yes. Not an ideal investment once you’re caught faking leaks.

Oh, then they’re still rumours. Didn’t work out? “Oh, the pandemic. “ and the like. Even based on the link from above every fourth “prediction “ doesn’t come true, to say it mildly.

Oh, and after claiming to have seen “the prototype“... I heard enough.

To be fair, things can rapidly change inside Apple (especially with today’s climate).

What confirmed rapid change are you referring to that recently happened inside Apple? Product related, not the fact that we all work from home or don’t work at all of course ;)
