I'm sitting very happily typing this on my amazing 13" MBP. It's a beautiful machine, and I love it. I hope to get a fair bit of time for its usage.
But, I know I'll have to update it eventually, but I'm waiting for some special things. Whenever things come out, be it tomorrow or two years, I'll buy it then and there. These would make it my dream laptop, and without these, however amazing it is, it will never be my dream. Cost isn't that big of a deal for me, so keep that in mind. I think these are reasonable.
- 13" - 3.5lbs
- 1440x900 screen (16:10)
- OLED
- No optical drive
- USB 3.0
- At least 512MB discrete/dedicated graphics
- Firewire 800
- 0.8" thin
- 10 hours battery life
- Thinner bezel
- No black bezel
- Easier to open hinge
- Possibly a 2nd HDD bay (this is already possible with a bit of extra room - possibly for discrete GPU - if you take out the optical drive)
- Backlit keyboard
- 2GHz Quad Core or 3GHz Dual Core
That sounds like a long list, but really, it's rather reasonable. Nothing crazy. The HP Envy accomplished a discrete GPU in a 13" laptop by removing the optical drive. That is a massive computer part considering how rarely most of us use it. I use it a couple times a year, all of which I'm at a desk anyway, I might as well use an external. With the extra space I could throw in at the very least another HDD bay but probably another GPU as well.
Introduce these and I'd buy it tomorrow.
Any suggestions guys? Add ons?
