VGA, which was introduced in the mid 1980s, ceased to be sold on any new computer device about 10 years ago, and was declared obsolete about 10 tears before that.
Big brands sold it in its day, but stopped when it ceased to be used for new projectors.
The world has moved on...

The only reason I am trying this is because the DVI port stopped working on this older monitor and the new monitor is hurting my eyes

Here's something odd.
I ended up ordering a cable from Walmart, but today I received a package from Amazon with a usb-c to VGA cable. I thought I was losing my marbles as I know I didn't order it. I checked my order history and it isn't there.
I am so confused

But, you said that you ordered the cable from Walmart
"I checked my order history and it isn't there"
Did you check both Walmart and Amazon order history?
The package had your name on it -- correct?

I suspect that Amazon, with their great AI power, knew exactly what you wanted, and shipped it out before you asked. How's that for service? (and, notice that you apparently got it for free  )
(Be careful what you wish for...)

I looked at the receipt and it says it was a gift. How did they know my address?

I used the QR code on my iphone and it just said congrats you got a gift, that's all the info, but there was an address there that wasn't mine.
Nice to get a free cable but does this ever happen? Not sure what to do at this point

somebody knew what you wanted. Maybe an early father's day gift?
Was it you?
I actually had a chat with Amazon today and they had no record of the order number or tracking number
No one other than this forum knew I was looking for the cable. Weird, wild stuff

No, not me... I think that the "guilty" person would need to know your address--and, that would also be "not me"
But, it's a nice result, eh?

Yeah, just a little creepy, no one I know knew I was looking to buy this cable

Well, that was for naught
The VGA port didn't work either.
Picture comes on for a second then goes out.
Guess I'll bring it to Best Buy and see if it pays to fix it. I miss the monitor, the picture was much easier on the eyes than the one I'm using, plus it tilts. Why would Samsung sell a newer monitor and not give it the ability to tilt it?

Just came back from Best Buy, guy said it doesn't pay to fix it so I left it there to recycle. Goodbye old friend

Thinking of buying a Viewsonic or BenQ 22 inch monitor. The prices are low, just looking for one that tilts.
This Samsung is killing my eyes and it doesn't tilt
