My eSata doesn't work, am I missing something?

Can anyone say why this is not the way to go, especially if you have a PCIe slot open? Seems like a no-brainer.

2. With 4+ internal drives (each of which can be partitioned any number of ways), why would anyone on a MP want to boot from an external drive?

1. Sonnet Tempo SATA E2P ($48.97 @ OWC), so the bracket's cheaper ($$24.95). More expensive than newegg, but it has one end at RT angle, the other straight (easier to install)

2. Clone/emergency repair OS drive for say a RAID installation for one.
