I like CompUSA, and happy they aren't closing near me, but I wouldn't mind those sales

I'm hoping to go over to my local compusa that's closing in a few weeks to try to get a 20'' Cinema display for like 30% off or something. I just hope they don't sell out too quickly. I might take a ride by next week just to see what they have and what the prices are.

I know everyone cares, but NFM in their credit agreement IS a PMSI creditor. This is from their store credit application agreement:

"Collateral
2. I grant to Nebraska Furniture Mart, Inc. a purchase money security interest under the Uniform Commercial Code and Kansas UCCC in all merchandise charged to the account. I agree that the purchase of such merchandise is for personal, family, or household use only. NOTICE: If I fail to make payments as agreed, or am otherwise in default, NFM can repossess any merchandise which has not been paid for in full. NFM waives any lien on my principal dwelling, except liens created by a court judgment or acquired by a filing against real estate as provided by statute. Goods purchased under this agreement will not become fixtures nor shall the goods become accessions to other goods. No merchandise purchased under this agreement is intended to serve as collateral or security for any other purchase. NFM has elected not to cross-collateralize the items sold under this contract."

I went to the Omaha CompUSA today. Signs everywhere with closing sale and 20% off... then you get closer and Macs and iPods are only 5% off, and keyboards/mice/etc are only 10%... only cheap crap with huge price margins is 20%. Needless to say they had mostly fully-stocked shelves. It was way busier than usual, though. Probably people baited in by 20% off signs and just browsing. There was never more than one or two checkout lanes open and hardly any lines.

I went to a closing CompUSA today and most of the items were 10% off, that's not too much of a discount, but it still brought a 160GB firewire external hard drive into my price range, so I got that. I'm hoping that the Mac Minis will get a nice price cut by the time the store closes so I can get one of them.

I went to one today and it kinda sucked. I'll be going back when I get wind that the items are 50% or more.
I kinda want a new camera for taking pictures of my cakes, but can't really afford one. 😛

stopped by mine yesterday and picked up some software I needed. I had already planned on paying retail, but 10% off was nice. It was like paying for it take free. I bought a few other things as well that were 20% off. I went through the whole store to see what was on sale and what wasn't. The apple stuff was 10% off. I almost bought a new airport extreme.

I immediately went to the Apple section of the store to see what they had on sale. First off, the only con to my visit were these two kids blasting rap music from random people's myspaces and it was annoying as hell.

Rap music, myspace and kids, oh the joys of the world 🙄

10% off Final Cut Studio is nothing to sneeze at. If I needed it right now, I'd have bought it.

At the store near me, Macs were only 5% off. I'll wait and see where that goes.

MP3 players were also only 5% off. Looked like all the 5G video iPods were gone, but some nanos and shuffles were still on display. Strangely, they seemed well-stocked on Zunes...

Books were 20% off, and some were further marked down. I got a $40 software book for about $12. Can't complain... Oh wait, it's Monday.
