Why the older CPU is better?

In raw speeds, it is a faster processor according to bench marks (as for if it will be noticeable, probably not), although the new CPU will excel in other area's, such as efficiency (and whatever else skylake has to offer).

How's the battery life in 15 inch models? I know people are having issues with the 13 inch TB models.

Does it really have problems streaming 60fps youtube? That shouldnt really happen but i hope someone else can chime in that has one
No, either network or new machine spotlight indexing. 4K YouTube videos are amazing on the new screen. The sound is amazing also. My first MacBook that max audio and screen brightness was too loud and bright. As others have posted the brightness control is odd with just one or two bar change making the screen darker than you would expect. Touch bar had me hooked in about 5 minutes though. My only negative experience was the text from my bank with the debit amount when I purchased at my local Apple store :) With the holiday return period, I have along time to decide if I'll keep it.

Okay, the drive speed on this thing is officially bananas.

I don't even know what the read speed is because the meter got pegged.

8. Touch ID is awesome but not always integrated. I LOVE not having to put in passwords constantly.

So where exactly does Touch ID work and not work? Does a web site have to be compatible like an iOS app or is this strickly run by keychain and it's web site neutral? What about Apple Pay? Do you still have to confirm on another device or can you use Touch ID to confirm payment?

One trick I realized regarding the "hidden volume bar" problem. If you go into your settings you can change it so that when you press Fn it brings up the control bar (with volume, etc) rather than the function bar. This is tremendously helpful when you want to skip songs or adjust keyboard brightness, etc. It feels more like a hotkey to skip a track now rather than a huge drawn out process.

I had only one use for function key (F5 in vim) and I simply remapped that. Now I never need any other function keys.

My brain said "troll" the moment you said the new MBP felt flimsy. How could anyone take you seriously after that?

Its not flimsy. Its flimsy in comparison to the 2009 MacBook Pro. Its a fantastic build. It just was a very very different beast. I will definitely be more careful with this one. Thinner always means flimsier. But the build is fantastic.

You have to select 5GB and let it run few times to get the real max speed reading. The reading is not limited at 2000MB/s.

The SSD is absurdly fast. Hard drive choking does not exist when doing multiple things. Really impressive. I have an SSD in my old tower and it chokes. Granted its an old computer so obviously it won't compare. But I am seeing on this Mac, crazy download speeds because the computer is not the bottleneck. and while downloading I am doing a million other things. Its definitely a beast. Can't imagine how fast the iMacs next year will be with this technology and a true desktop processor.

I absolutely guarantee you will eventually. Every rMB and rMBP I've come across develops this after a while if it doesn't have it out of the box. This is the second report of it happening with the 2016 MBP, so I'd put any amount of money on it being endemic. It can take a while to start happening, though.

What is it that actually starts shaking? And does it affect use?

I've read one theory that it's the 'light guide' behind the display panel, but I don't buy it. Not sure what it is, but it's bizarre how universal the issue is. Shake your MB or MBP horizontally and you'll hear it. It varies from day to day, implying that heat has some effect, but sometimes whatever it is gets loose enough to be heard sliding around by just tilting the 'Book let and right.

Annoying when you know it's there, but it doesn't have any ill effect beyond that. :)

Ok, I'm sorry about that. I better understand you now. I can see how coming from a 2009 (which is heavy and big) would be a drastic change.

I definitely could not get 4k youtube 60fps videos to not stutter a lot. They basically looked like they were dropping to 24 fps or lower. BUT that is youtube and in a browser. It might be very different using VLC or quicktime etc. Probably is. 1440 60fps was buttery smooth after I restarted.

BATTERY - I use a mix of a tiny bit of photoshop, excel, mail, safari, iTunes, acrobat throughout the day and I really only average around 4 - 5 hours of battery life so far. I need to experiment a bit more but overall Its not that great. I like the speakers but I'd gladly ditch them for battery life. I am not sure what apples idea of "light" use is. because I am not even close to 10 hours.
