I'm sorry this probably should be brought to a PC forum but I dont know any..
if its not appropriate please delete.

I have an external HDD but its format is Mac OS Extend
Is that why when I plugged it into my PC it doesnt respond at all?
I know they use different filing systems, is there any softwares/application for PC so I can use my HDD on my PC without having to have all my files on it deleted??
Or no matter what I'm gonna have to have everything erased...?

    thanks!!

Windows cannot read nor write to Mac formatted drives.

If you want read/write for Mac and PC you'll need either FAT32 or if they're newer machines exFAT.

As far as I know, people told me I can change format or split the hard drive into two different systems?
I did some googling they said you can do that on Mac but nobody offered any methods with details..
Can you or anybody help please? I need this done urgently.

    Problem solved.
Used MacDrive, although not really stable, it gets the job done.
