Not a fan of leather cases.

More often than not; stitches are off, port holes are off center and fit is either to tight or too loose.

If you want the lowest of lowest profiles, you can't beat the Original Apple iPad Case. Yeah, it's not leather but it is hands down the best fitting flip case out there.

That's obviously a matter of opinion. I have the Apple case, and I also have the Marware Eco-Flip. I much prefer the leather Eco-Flip. And all of the port holes line up perfectly. So bang goes that theory.

Thanks for the review! This looks like a great case and is something I might consider as an alternative to the Apple case.

Do you think that the leather is quality enough to not stretch out over time? I'm concerned that, without a flap to cover the opening, the iPad will start to slide out. That's the one thing I really like about the Apple case...all sides are covered. Also, what about dust/lint getting in behind the case opening?

I sure wish these newer leather cases came with a flap similiar to the Apple case. It would make buying them much easier. I saw the Incase convertible on an iPad in the store and even the Apple employee was surprised on how much the iPad slid around with no flap to secure the opening.

I like the Apple case, but it's not holding up well to the elements and I'm constantly trying to clean and brush the material so it looks fresh again. Leather just holds up much better and the build quality on this case is excellent.

I've only had mine a week but use it daily (all day) and I don't see the leather giving in to that. The outter leather gives a bit and even shows the slight curve to the back on the iPad so it does give a little but the inner leather surrounding or holding in the iPad is not the same. It's not going to stretch. I don't feel like the iPad will eventually slide out b/c of the leather stretching over time.

Hope that makes sense? and helps

Another week has passed and the leather seems to be holding up good. There is still no way the iPad will slide out. It's tight and I'm pretty sure it will stay this way.

I was a little concerned the leather may loosen some but it has not yet.

My PDair case is already here three days after ordering it and it was free shipping from Hong Kong. The packaging was nice and the quality of the case is outstanding. I also have the Marware Eco Vue case which is nice but not quite the same quality as this one. It's slightly thinner and the leather and stitching are obviously nicer. I would describe the Marware as a casual leather case and the PDair as a business type leather case. And, the added FREE leather keychain was a nice touch to the order. I definitely recommend this product.

I ordered a PDair on Wednesday and have not received a shipping notification from them. Do they ship from Hong Kong and do they notify when the item is shipped? I also ordered the brown leather magnetic and they have now removed that one from their site. Maybe they are now out of stock.

I ordered mine Tuesday and got a confirmation email almost instantly. Then I got a shipping notification email on Wednesday with a tracking number. It was at my front door when I got home from work tonight.

I received the confirmation email but no shipping notification. I'll zip them an email to see what the status is. Looks to be the best case for me.

Mine was shipped out of Hong Kong and
I think I ordered it in a Saturday. I received
it on the following Wednesday.

I think it was FedEx and they did send out
tracking info via email.

They responded to my email with a tracking number. Shipped yesterday but still in hong kong. Should be here the middle of next week.

OK. I can't stand it anymore. I ordered on via PDAir site directly. I would like to have spent less, but it seems like the perfect case, so what's an extra $20 I guess. Hope it's as good as it looks!

I wanted the brown and I couldn't find it except at pdair. Looks like the best case I've seen and the YouTube review sold me.

Well, the package traveled from Hong Kong to Louisville KY over the weekend and it was just delivered. UPS rarely ships that fast inside the US! The PDair case is brown (black is too classy for me) and the build quality is great. The iPad fits well and secure and the leather is soft and classy. I don't imagine anyone who orders one will be disappointed. Now if my Power Support film will only arrive. I'm not complaining. I am lucky I stumbled on the iPad I wanted at my local BB.

I am really interested in this case. It is between this and the Incase one.

The deciding factor is how well the PDair is as a stand.

Can someone comment on how it is as a stand? Is it prone to fall over or is it heavy enough not to fall over on a table?

Anyone care to comment?

The case is not really made to be a stand. It will do that but not without the possibility of collapsing. Its really just a book type, high quality case. No pockets and no transformation into other things. The first post on the thread takes you to a video review where the OP shows it being used as a stand and compares it to the Apple case.

I ordered mine over the weekend, and got it Tuesday via UPS. The packaging is actually really nice. Very classy presentation.

The case is actually smaller than I imagined.

As someone else mentioned, it is not designed as a stand. The back actually folds around very nicely, for holding it like a book. Proping it up on my desk in landscape mode, my desk is a laminate type surface, and it's hot up here right now. The leather is providing enough friction that it could be used in this position for presentation, but I would be a lot more comfortable backing it up against something, rather than having it stand alone.

So, I would say it is first and formost a worry-free cover and carrier, and secondarily a stand, but if a stand is your main goal, I would think one of the dedication options would be a better/safer choice.

One side note -- the case is very well built, and the unit will not slide out (it slides in from the side nearest the binding, so that's very comforting), but it does seem to add some heft to the iPad. Not sure if its real or perceived, but the weight seems more noticeable now.

I'll post again after a week or so of use.

I second all that. The case is not the best solution if your needing a Book Stand type. Yes, it works but I think there are better. It is however a very nice, tight, unintrusive case (is that a word?) it's a simple case that looks great and feels nice to the touch.
If I had a quality Video Camera I would make a Review Video that focused on those things a little more. The OP did however post a great video that does let you see what it's like.

Just a word of warning. When the iphone 3Gs came out I got a case with a magnetic latch and thought nothing of it. I had MAJOR issues with my iphone, cell service would stop working all the time, major battery drain, had to restart it constantly just to get a signal etc. I dealt with apple AND att support for 3 months and they gave me 5 new phones. After the 5th I got a tech at the apple store who was at a complete loss but we spent some time looking at everything and he asked to see my case and after seeing it said maybe its the magnet. Well we launched the compass app and sure enough the magnet was making the whole thing go nuts, needle spinning everywhere. I threw the case in the garbage and never had another issue again. Not sure if the ipad is much different but i would steer clear of any case with a magnet. just my 2 cents.

This concern has been addressed with a few cases. I've not had a problem with battery drain (it lasts forever), GPS reception, 3G, WiFi or compass readings. I think if the magnet is right in the middle of the case (likely the location on your iPhone case and some iPad cases) it would be an issue. The two magnets are off to the side on this case so it does not seem to be an issue.

Good thing you found this out before you got lost somewhere. You could have driven around in a small little circle for ever :)

I believe I finally found the best iPad case!

DUDE! Thanks! I bought one from Cases.com and it arrived a few minutes ago. It's spectacular! Very high quality. Fits like a glove. Feels (and smells) great.

Plus it makes the iPad look like a professional tool and not a game center here at the office.

THANKS FOR THE ADVICE! :D

Awesome, glad to hear it! It is a great design, very complimentary to the iPad I think.
