Hello all,
I am please to say I am now an "official" Apple Developer!
Some may say "so what", but I am a firefighter/paramedic by trade and wanted a particular app but it didn't exist.

My app RescueCalc is geared toward people in the Search & Rescue field but can be used by others who need to calculate the weight of concrete and steel.

I have read posts about advertising and wonder how other developers get the word out? What has worked for you? Things to avoid?

Thanks!
Jeff

congrats!

first step would be to put your app link in this post as well as your sig.

second step i would say is to find some more directed forums (fire fighter) to share your app in.

unless you have a huge budget its hard to make too much of an impact your best bet is going to be word of mouth and good keywords so people can find your app when they search.

Thanks Touch

Thanks for the input,
Here is the link:
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/rescuecalc/id618407837?mt=8

It is a simple calculator program, but for those of us who don't do the calculations every day it could be a life saver!

I am exploring the different trade forums.
Some are more active than others.
Looking for ideas on how to make it stand out in a forum post.

I am hoping word of mouth goes a long way, I have no budget for advertising.
