so, i'm going to be purchasing my very first car this weekend.
we're a nissan family, so i'll be getting a sentra.

at the nissan dealership they had two cars with the same specifications EXCEPT the white car had tinted windows.

i was talking to my family and it really just came down to which color/paint would be best.

do you think it's better to go with a white or a gold color?
half of them tell me the white will not look as shiny.
half of them say that the gold will fade too fast.

i'll just be honest and admit that I wasn't sure how/if i could post a poll.

Gold or a sand color? I'd say go with white unless you wanna stand out. I've just never seen a good looking gold car

depends on where you live. since your info states arizona im guessing you got some nasty dusty winds from time to time. the gold wouldnt show as much dirty and dust that the white one would...

you can always get tint later.

White.

EDIT: I live in Arizona also, I'd never get a car other than white. I'd rather have a white car then bake to death during the summer.

the dealership says gold, but it IS more of a sand color.

White. My last car was white, and my current one may be repaintined white (Its actually the identical car, so that's partly the reason why I want it white again). White is very eligant, and can look great. The great thing is it hides dirt. Lots of people think white gets dirty fast but it is quite opposite.
This is my white car after not being washed for about 3 weeks... The paint is also 13 years old there soo it may look terrible ;)

Here's my question: Which colour do you like more?

If it doesn't matter to you, then just choose the one that you can get the quickest. :p That's what I did. If I chose red, it would have taken me 2 or 3 weeks to get it. If I chose black, they'd give it to me in 2 days. I didn't care either way, so I chose black. It's funny, because later, I realized that I liked my car in white more than either black or red.

You know, you'd think he would make that decision for himself, but he's asking what color will stand up better and be the easiest to maintain.

And to make a poll, just go tot he top of your thread, and look for "Thread Options". Click that an the option is at the bottom.

I think it looks nicer in white. White is a pretty trendy colour at the moment and it's unlikely to offend anyone which will make it easier to sell later.

I like my "Nissan" in blue ;) But think white is a pretty safe color to go with. Scratches and dirt just don't seem to show as much on a white car.

White car, light CLOTH interior...

As far as the tint, get it yourself later. Where you can get the metallic/low-e film to block the heat instead of the light.

A cheap dye tint is rather useless in AZ, unless the tint look is all you care about.

I followed Abstract's link to the available colours and am a bit confused. When you say 'gold' do you mean "sonoran sand?" That's the closest to gold that I can see. White is ok, but in my opinion, the sonoran sand actually looks pretty classy. It's not a gaudy looking gold like cars from the 70's. If it was then I would definitely go with the white. But I much prefer the sonoran sand for this type of car.

thank you all for your input.
i just returned from the dealership and i actually went with the white.

it's funny because i came inside and my dad wanted to see it (5 mins after coming home) and came back and asked "did you know there is bird poop all over the hood?"

i was really nervous about getting a car so i'm just taking this as a sign of good luck.

Don't worry about the color, be happy that your parents will buy you a car!

Too bad they're Nissan people though. I'd rather my parents be addicted to crack :p

edit - Gold is nasty though. My dad has a gold Lexus,

And it always looks dirty, no matter how much its washed.

I'm a fan of darker colors, black and blue especially, but white would be my choice out of those two.

Gold? Are you kidding? The only thing worse for your mojo than having a Nissan Sentra is a gold Nissan Sentra :p
