    Hi,

i have been viewing these forums for about a month now an gained some excellent information. which has led me to order the following

    24" 2.4ghz imac (refurb)
    wireless mighty mouse
    wireless keyboard

i order all of the above on the 28th Feb 2008. as i was ordering the items i was checking the stock status as i'm due to fly to New York on business on the 14th for 3 days.

at the time all the items where showing they where in stock and delivery would be 2-3 days.

well its now the 6th march and the only date they can tell me is that is should be delivered on the 13th march.

every person i speak to at apple tells me one of the items is out of stock, and they have all told me its not the same item thats out of stock...

then i was told the reason for the delay is the imac has to be built, i reply but its a refurb surely its been out and come back for some reason or another so it should be in stock....

i'm very diappointed with the service i have recieved so far from apple, i have been using windows for approx 22yrs, and considering apple control their products alot better than windows then i dont expect this sort of service.

from using a friends mac i was really looking forward to recieving my imac, but this has now tainted it a little...

is this the norm people can expect from apple, or should i consider this an isolated incident...

    thanks alot

    Ian

My experience has been great from the beginning. Hopefully your machine is great once it arrives. If so, you won't even remember this 6 months from now. All good things come to those who wait!

I suggest not mixing refurb items with normal items. Just a habit of mine. Refurbs tend to go in and out of stock and are best left separate from other purchases, especially those that might also go in and out of stock on their own.

As for the customer service aspect, Apple is just like any other company - regular human beings telling you what a computer tells them, with associated notes and tidbits from other regular human beings. Clearly, customer service can get a little messy occasionally.
