was using a Motorola Razr at the time. Sexy thin flip phone. Bought an iPhone 4s 64gb off ebay, which started my journey with the iPhone line. I've clung to the small phone design, having used a SE1 since 2017. still have and use the 4s as a music player. Searching for a perfect 13 mini now.

I was due for an upgrade the year the 4s launched, back when subsidized phones on contract were a thing. But I purposely avoided upgrading that year because I did not, do not and still don't not like the stainless steel band around this iPhone.

My first love is the iPhone 5, which I bought brand new and got on launch day in 2012.

13.5 years later I own a black iPhone 4 ($20 off someone on Reddit) and a white iPhone 4s ($25 from a MacRumors member). Still not a fan.

My 3GS, 4, 4s and 5. Note - all of them work.

i like the stainless band.
If Apple had ever made that band black or even a darker shade I might have gone for it. But that's why I like the iPhone 5 (Black/Slate) so much. The sides are the same color.

For what it's worth, the iPhone 4 and 4s have had a much longer life and are more closely associated with being a 'classic' iPhone than the iPhone 5 ever did or was. The 5 got a single year as the flagship. The 4s had multiple years and is now enjoying a resurgence.

I'm in the minority.

We all like different things; enjoy your 4s!

The stainless band is really unique because it's the only Apple product I can think of that has the stainless steel not polished. I have a 32GB black GSM 4 along with a matching box, a 16GB white CDMA 4, and a 16GB black 4s.

The black 4 works on iOS 7.1.2, but the battery life only lasts a few minutes because the seller said the phones (4 and 4s lot) were in storage for years, which makes sense with the toll it could take on the battery. Power button doesn't work so I may end up doing a battery and power button swap with the white one.

The white 4 is activation locked.

The black 4s works on iOS 9.3.5, but I have jailbroken it and might try to downgrade it to iOS 6.

Although the 5s is my favorite design, the 4 is an easy second place.

I got the white 4s I have for my son's 15th birthday. He and his sister were attending a new school and I needed to get a hold of him. I searched eBay and came up with an 8GB box (it's the later released 8gb model), original instructions, Earpods, stickers, the charging block and 30-pin cable and the warranty info.

He was pretty happy when he unwrapped it. For his 16th birthday he got an SE (NIB) and I got his 4s. That's how I happen to have it now.

I did not like the iPhone 4 GSM because of the antenna bands and iOS 7.x [the latest version]
I like the iPhone 4s but how I wish Apple left it on iOS 8.4.1 [or re-sign iOS 6.1.3]
I like the size of the iPhone 5/5s/SE 2016 but I prefer the iPhone 5c for it has a stainless steel frame inside.

The iPhone 5 is still a good choice since it's the oldest model with AirDrop support and can still be used as a pocket camera, one of the few models with minimal to no digital processing.

The iPhone 4 was my favourite iPhone, till the ‘Pro Max’ series were released.

With the iPhone 4, I never had a case or a ‘bumper’.

Remember those bumpers?

I had the 4 (my favorite iPhone), and upgraded to the 4s. It was such a letdown of an upgrade that the 4s became my most disliked iPhone.

i never had a 4S but I really liked the size of my iphone 5S. These iphones are getting way too big for my taste but I really don't have much of a choice these days. It feels like I am toting a tablet around. 🙁

I enjoyed my 4S when I had it and loved the small compact and solidly built device. Sadly I gave mine to my daughter many years ago so I searched and found one brand new still sealed so I grabbed it to add to my collection 🙂
