Woo hoo! I finally ordered my notebook last night. Other than the matte, hi-resolution display, I ordered the standard configuration. I still need to decide which brand of RAM to order before I upgrade to 4 GB.
I've already bought my invisible shield. I also ordered a bag from Waterfield. My veganized, medium Cozmo bag, matching sleeve and gear bag (yay for mambo combo) is on its way from San Francisco.

This is my first Mac. I appreciate all the discussion about the Mac and look forward to reading more.

    2.5GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
MacBook Pro 17-inch Hi-Resolution LED Widescreen Display

    SuperDrive 8x (DVD±R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW)

You can save a bundle if you buy the 4GB Ram upgrade from a third party. I spent under $100 for 4GB (2GB x 2) out at NewEgg.

Congrats. I've had mine almost 2 weeks now. Ordered Macbook Pro, 2.4, Matte, 15". I'm new to Mac this is my first time using one and I have to say I'm lost coming from a 15 year windows user. The easiest keyboard strokes are not the same. I need to order a book or find some helpful guides. I guess I need to take the time to search this forum for help.

I am enjoying it even if I don't know my way around!:)
