Yes, but that seems a general problem with CL people.
They always say they will meet you and more than half the time they never show up when you setup a meet.
Lots of flakes and wasted time with CL sales.

Craigslist experience is very area dependent on location. In Central NJ it’s a horror vs South NJ where the experience is much better. Hoboken, NJ people are reliable where Jersey City, not so much. I would love to understand why that is.

I haven’t sold on Craigslist in a long time because of the amount of phishing emails, and no shows.

I listed my iPhone on Craigslist and swappa. I had a ton of hits on Craigslist but, they either flaked out or wouldn’t meet at their cell provider to make the exchange. I would of prefered the cash and carry that Craigslist provides but, it was just such a hassle.

No issues with Craigslist for me, but I do live in a smaller town. Always meet somewhere around people congregating. Never had a no show.

I've used Craigslist in a big city (San Antonio) and I've had no issues. You just need to set guidelines. Meet in a mutual place with lots of people and cameras. I usually connect with Craigslist on Facebook, so I can see the person and they can see me. We know each others name. We react publicly to a post where I'm buying or selling something. It's by no means anonymous. Haven't had trouble with no shows, attempted theft or a person being dishonest about what they were selling.

Totally agree. Never had so many problems selling my 6+ and 5c as I did with EBay. Between buying and not paying, returning for unreasonable problems etc. finally sold my 6+ on EBay (took 3 weeks and a reduction because so many hit the mkt on delivery of the X). Now trying Swappa for my kids 5c. Only seeing low ball bids. I’m glad I went with IUP for my X. I’m done with reselling.

Swappa has no "bidding", you price your product competitively and then wait.

I have been happy with Gazelle. I am honest in my assessment of my equipment, got a reasonable estimate of it's worth and have never had Gazelle down grade the status of my sold stuff. Win win.

Hardly win win.

Gazelle has always given low estimates. You can always make more money selling here on macrumors or on craigslist.

Your opinion. When I look at what it would take for me to sell it on ebay, or craigslist, or even here (and remember not everybody here on MR can access the for sale forum) to me as long as I agree with what Gazelle is willing to pay and they pay that, then yes it's a win for each of us, win-win.

To each his own.

Gazelle pays $285 for a flawless iPhone 7 32g. I can easily get ~-430-450 for that on craigslist maybe even more. That's a HUGE difference. Basically highway robbery. I'd rather go with IUP than sell with gazelle tbh.

I agree, its your option if you're ok with getting less and not dealling with selling it on your own.
Obviously for Gazelle or any of these buy back companies to stay in business there has to be plenty of meat left on the bone for them to buy from you and then sell it and still make a profit ;)

win win? Yeah on Gazelle's part only.

And there we have a perfect mix of personal choice and capitalism. Win for me, win for Gazelle.
[doublepost=1511653469][/doublepost]To get this back to Swappa discussion. I hadn't heard of them and after the grief about Gazelle, I looked into them. I will not use Swappa because of the PayPal requirement. We (wife and I) used to be big Ebay users AND paypal. Years ago Ebay and paypal (after ebay bought paypal) shifted their focus to protect the buyer more than the seller. Our experience was never positive after that change. For that reason alone, our choice is to not use any seller that requires paypal.
Your mileage may vary.

My opinion doesn’t pertain to the swappa experience but I’ve never done eBay or PayPal or any stuff online for that reason. I’ve always used Craigslist and met inside a bank with a counterfeit detector pen. Always has worked for me. I just sold my iPhone 7 Plus for $600 1 week ago and I just sold my wife’s iPhone 6s Plus for $480 2 days ago. Even my AirPort Extreme I sold for $160 today when I got back from my trip. Works for me.

I rather use Swappa or Ebay over Gazelle.....I know with Swappa and Ebay there is a small chance that I will get rip off...but IF i use Gazelle for sure I will get rip off.
