So I decide to download a movie on iTunes on my MBP so I can watch it on the plane on my way to business meeting. I rented the movie. So now I am at 30,000 feet and decide to watch the movie. I start iTunes and low and behold, the first thing it wants to do is access the internet I assume to time-stamp the rental. guess what? no movie on the plane. What am I missing here and why would I would I want a movie only 'accessible' via the net....that why I have iTunes, to avoid this BS. Please advise.

The only way to avoid that is to load the rented movies onto an iPod/Touch/iPhone.
