What's the word I'm thinking of...

Hey, when you are a broke college student, that stuff is high quality, since it's cheap and gets you drunk quick. I mean, sure it's not the high-end stuff like Blue Nun or Boone's Farm, but it's good wine. 🙂

Edit: It looks like those wine snobs at Wikipedia actually agree with you.

Ok so, we tried making it, it's actually pretty good, our finalised ingredients list (which provides 2 drinks) is as follows:

1 x Monster 'Ripper'
1 x Crest Super Premium Lager (10%)
2 x Pro Plus tablets
5 x Jolly Ranchers
2 x shots of high strength vodka (50%)
1 x shot of flavoured cordial (optional/adds extra flavour)

Feel free to make it yourself, it was surprisingly nice, although I'm a little concerned what it's going to be like after several drinks (I felt quite jittery after a while). The big test will be next weekend, I'll inform you all how it went.

If anyone has any recipes for other drinks, feel free to add, should probably change the name of the thread. Homemade brews are pretty fun.

did you melt the jolly ranchers? or are you not talking about the candy?

Nope, just left it in the drink for a bit, stirred it for a good 5-10 minutes and it broke most of it down, I'm guessing the chemicals in the Monster break down the sweets super fast, we didn't actually use Jolly Ranchers (as they're not sold in the UK), but we used something close enough, we will be getting Jolly Ranchers for our next batch though.

I seriously employ people to give this a try, it's far FAR tastier than vodka & red bull (which I can't stand), if you don't want to be buzzing for hours afterwards, just don't put in the pro plus, job done.

Ben you should work in an upscale pub. 🙂

Now craft me one with a 15yr malt.. 😀

A good 15 year old single malt should never be mixed with anything except a bit of water. Anything else is a crime against the great distillers of Scotland.

This stuff is blech, no wonder it is getting blacklisted.

Just give me a swig of anything with N.O. in it and a French style Absinthe.

My cousin and I have had some of these a few times. They're alright, but I can understand the hype over stupid college kids buying cases at a time and expecting to drink a lot in one night. They're not that bad, except for the orange. That one was absolutely disgusting.

If by a bit of water you mean frozen water cubes then you are correct. I wouldn't add a splash of it.

Some purists would say even putting it on the rocks is an affront all that is good an holy. Many purists say you should put nothing more than a few drops of water to release the flavors. I'm not that bad, though.
