It was quite a shock to open the case and find.... corrosion. Last thing we expected to find.

there were 4 generations, topping out at 2.0, 2.5, 2.7, and 2.5 (quad) respectively. So yours is most certainly a second gen. G5. 😉 Anyway, those are some pretty wild photos, but I'm glad you're getting it taken care of free of charge.

The 2.3GHz model didn't come around until the 3rd generation when the 2.7GHz was at the top end. There were 4 generations of Power Mac G5s in all.
