It was quite a shock to open the case and find.... corrosion. Last thing we expected to find.

there were 4 generations, topping out at 2.0, 2.5, 2.7, and 2.5 (quad) respectively. So yours is most certainly a second gen. G5. Anyway, those are some pretty wild photos, but I'm glad you're getting it taken care of free of charge.

Indeed, we have a few 2.30Ghz at work.

The 2.3GHz model didn't come around until the 3rd generation when the 2.7GHz was at the top end. There were 4 generations of Power Mac G5s in all.
