I always enjoy reading other people's positive genius bar experiences, so I thought I'd post my recent experience too:
This Tuesday I made an appointment to get my iPod touch (4th gen) looked at because I was having severe battery drain issue and the home button was acting up. When I got to the Apple store, as I was getting out of my car, my iPod touch slipped out of my pocket and hit the parking lot face down. I picked it up and saw a shattered screen. At that point I thought my chances of getting my iPod replaced were gone. Still, I went into the Apple store and talked to the genius. I explained the situation to him. He told me to give him the iPod "face down so he wouldn't see if the screen was shattered or not"
He plugged it in and said the battery was indeed having problems holding a charge, and he immediately swapped it out for me. I went in there thinking I'd have no chance, and I walked out with a new iPod and a happy customer yet again.
