I always enjoy reading other people's positive genius bar experiences, so I thought I'd post my recent experience too:
This Tuesday I made an appointment to get my iPod touch (4th gen) looked at because I was having severe battery drain issue and the home button was acting up. When I got to the Apple store, as I was getting out of my car, my iPod touch slipped out of my pocket and hit the parking lot face down. I picked it up and saw a shattered screen. At that point I thought my chances of getting my iPod replaced were gone. Still, I went into the Apple store and talked to the genius. I explained the situation to him. He told me to give him the iPod "face down so he wouldn't see if the screen was shattered or not" 😀
He plugged it in and said the battery was indeed having problems holding a charge, and he immediately swapped it out for me. I went in there thinking I'd have no chance, and I walked out with a new iPod and a happy customer yet again.
