Her has been using her iPhone for 2 years but its in perfect condition and she takes care of it. But she has been using a Mophie Juice case/charger for about the duration of the 2 years as well. i think for about 1 1/2 years it has been experiencing the typical battery problem where it drains fast or dies at like 50%. But recently it died and never came back on. it would show the dead battery icon with the usb and when its connected it would just show the dead battery. also her lock button doesn't work most of the time.

she never dropped. she said that it randomly died and never came back on, the lock button issue has been on for like a year or so
I would take it into the Apple store and get it looked at. Sounds like the phone has multiple issues...

This... I was gonna say the same thing. Either the battery is recalled or the power button is bad due to recall too.
Doesn't sound like it's in perfect condition if it won't even turn on. 😛
Take it to Apple to at least get an idea of what needs to be replaced and how much it'll cost.
