Great article, and I am please your girlfriend Rachel had her illness diagnosed and treated with hopefully no further issues.
My concern with current wearable or any consumer heath monitors device is false reading or false positive, speaking from experience one day last week, I happed to check my BPM on my W3 (have the wigit on watch face).
It was running at 130 which no doubt shocked me, keeping on eye on it every 10 minutes revealed it was not slowing down and looking at the data on the watch the 1h readings were all above 110, till after lunch when I made an effort not to check it anymore, this is when I started to see a decline.
So it seems the first spike I saw at 130 was most likely down to the mix of breakfast + coffee, but the constant worry check set myself on some sort of anxiety high, keeping me in a fight or flight mode.
Only after not checking did my body calm down.
I love the idea and road map of what will come into this space of tech in the near future and how it already is, as with Rachel, saving peoples lives.
Live long and prosper!
