    Hi all,
I've decided to update my MBP 2.4 (MA896LL) A1226 MACBOOK PRO 3,1 MID 07 model with more ram and bigger HD.
I'm getting so much confusion as to exactly how much I can install (3 GB to 6 GB). Is their a definitive amount type that I should be looking at and if their is a supplier I should buy from. I want to install it myself.
Thank you for any help or suggestions.
    John

4GB should be faster than 6GB in some cases (depends on how much memory you use in your programs). See macmall.com.

Max RAM for that model is 6GB (actual) 4GB (according to Apple).

To get specs on any Apple product, get MacTracker

Thanks to all. I've gone and bought through OWC 6 GB ram (4-2) and a new HD. They were also very helpful with answering questions and their pricing was excellent. They even have installation videos etc.
    Thanks again,
    John
