HELP HELP!

My iBook (G3 900mhz) is busted!

Its not loading past the grey apple loading screen, i tried techtool - its just powering down after a while of disk access, tried firewire target disk - doesnt display tried disk repair - just keeps on trying to load, tried fsck - doesnt fix the permissions.

Also tried manually mounting the ibook on my powermac with:

xxx2-xxxd3-0-0-cust866:~ Tom$ mkdir /Volumes/iBook
mkdir: /Volumes/iBook: File exists
xxx2-xxx3-0-0-cust866:~ Tom$ mount -t hfs -r /dev/disk2s10 /Volumes/iBook
mount_hfs: Resource busy

Any ideas? Even if its just to salvage some data..lost a sales brochure ive spent 2 weeks on!!!

Can you boot off of a CD? Remove all peripherals and pull any extra ram.

Tried that web tutorial, which now means that now it gets past the apple loading bit and to a blue screen - as if the login window will appear - but never does...

How do you load the ibook from the powermac. I've been having issues right now with an ibook 700mhz I just got. I'm pretty sur eit's a HD failure, which sucks for both of us since they seem pretty tricky to do. I already got the HD on my desk, now I need to track down install discs as I don't have them either. Keep us updated for sure!

Okay, my Powermac does this from time to time. When you get to the blank blue screen, try hitting the command-shift-q combination (i.e. the log-out key command). I don't know why my computer does this, but it needs this key combo to bring up the user login window about 1 time in 5. Has anyone else seen similar behaviour?

ok i have reverted to not even getting the blue screen now, just the grey apple and gear, any more suggestions?
