This has to have something to do with makeup and sweat from the heat of the computer, that's the only reasonable explanation. or chalk? or something. I don't know. very strange.

Maybe you should just accept it and make your ibook furry too.

Sidenote: Please do not do that. That 'man' should be abused.

EDIT: It's (her?) name is cynthia? Eesh. Either way. Don't do it.

It's the bedspread. Get an iSkin for the keyboard and get the magic eraser for the palmrest. Notice that it is only pink where your hands go... so that tells the story.

read my first post. although not said, bedspread has only been on for about 2 weeks or so when it got cold here in socal, and i wash my hands obsessively. its not the bed spread.

Well I had that same machine, until a few weeks ago.

If it is not the bedspread, then what are you implying? That it is the plastic itself?

Don't think so. Get the eraser and don't use it on the keyboard or outer case, just palmrest, and then get an iSkin -- will save your iBook anyway from accidental spills etc. Nice machine; glad you stuffed it with max ram.

It's definitely something to do with something coming from your hands - look at the area of the touchpad - it's exactly the same area you'd use during everyday use...

My bedspread was dark brown. It turned my ibook pink. I know you say yours is old dadadadada, so was mine. It still turned it pink. The entire bottom was pink, and so was the hand area for a while. Try to keep it on a desk only. My pinkness went away on its own from just being constantly moved/touched [i have no feet on my ibook, apple people took them haha, so the bottom rubbed on stuff and the pink went away]

This is the crazyest thing I've ever heard!! An iBook turning pink. Crazy. I'd say its either make up from someone (maybe someone in the house uses loads, I dunno, or red chalk from a class room (do any teachers use it loads?) or maybe discoloration from a new bed sheet or carpet, maybe its been in the way of light from the sun that's passed through a coloured piece of glass??

It's Stigmata!

Quick put it on eBay... :D

Seriously, sorry about your pink problem, at least you havn't dropped it, or no faulty logic boards.

;)

All of the posters saying "It's make up!"-- have any of you actually worn make up and left this kind of residue?! If so... what kind of make up are you wearing and where/how are you applying it?!

That is NOT from make up. Hmph.
