Hi all, just wondered if anybody could help me with a problem I've suddenly started having with my iMac (not the latest version, the one before!).

Usual wireless speed in my apartment is around 6Mbps based on useage of my MacBook and a PC laptop. But the iMac is for some reason running really, really slowly. I do checks and the speed is sometimes so bad as under 1Mbps. I can't figure it out - I've moved the iMac, I've tried moving the router, everything.

I'm doing the latest software update at the moment (running Snow Leopard) to see if that might help, but I wondered if anybody else has had this issue? I'm out of ideas, unfortunately... :confused:

Thanks for the reply. The info showing is;

PHY Mode: 802.11g
BSSID: 0:90:d0:fa:c3:1f
Channel: 1 (2.4 GHz)
Security: None
RSSI: -84
Transmit rate: 2

Anyone got any tips? I can barely get the webpages to load now. It's painful. And means I can't get anything done.

My Macbook is running fine on the same wireless network - good speeds.
