My iPad slipped out of my hands AND CRACKED MY 2021 MBP THAT GOT REPLACED JUST LAST WEEK! Should I get a screen protector? What advice do u have?

That is how the iPad was position on the Mac screne when it slipped out of my two hands.

There are black blinking lines on the bottom of the screen too.

I have AppleCare+ and that screen replacement was free. It just pisses me off to see how vulnerable the screen really is, how little impact it can take to cause damage. I'd say dropping the iPad like that was equivalent to a light punch. Also, getting the screen replaced twice in a month?!

Take it back to the retailer but don't expect them to fix it for free.
Curious to know why it was replaced 'JUST LAST WEEK!'? Did you accidentally buy Friday afternoon's lemon (usually it's me who does that) or are you just basically a butterfingers?

Oh, and screens aren't designed to survive "a light punch"

I accidentally left a very small object on between the body and screen when closing it, making me get the screen replacement. This is the 1st time I've dropped something on the screen.

Not sure what else to advise other than try to take a bit more care of your expensive equipment, which I can't avoid sounding patronising even though I don't mean it to. Accidents happen and I'm sitting here full well knowing I could within the next five minutes drop or otherwise damage my 2 week old Macbook Air I'm typing this on, and someone else will then be the one doing the lecturing.

The most you can do is try to minimise opportunities for sh-t to happen.

But you're going to have to forgive them for trying to hide a laugh when you walk in twice in a two weeks with a broken screen. There's accidents and there's carelessness; thin line. Really not sure if your Applecare+ will cover it again; I'm not that well-versed on how they treat two incidents of accidental damage a fortnight apart.

Ost screens will crack or shatter when impacted by something. Unless it was an old school CRT which tended to have thicker glass on it. Most LCD/OLED screens will crack with just a slight impact. i guess you got lucky that you only broke the MBP screen and not the ipad screen as well.

Since you have AC+ you should just be charged the deductible. I believe you can have 2 incidents per year if I remember correctly.

Their computer records will show that it's already been recently repaired. Though yeah, you might at least be spared the awkwardness of being served by the exact same person.

Use a desktop.

I've used a lot of laptops since 1999 and have never once damaged a screen or a laptop.

You expect a laptop to be sturdy? No laptop screen is that sturdy to resist an iPad falling on top of it. At least you got it fixed.

I think in this case, just laugh it off, take your lumps, and get the screen repaired. You took the proper precaution by getting AppleCare+, and I doubt anyone at the Apple Store is going to care much other than make a couple of jokes about you behind closed doors and then forget about it.

I think AppleCare+ only covers accidental damage 3 times though, so just be aware that you only have 1 of those left until you re-up the coverage on the notebook.
