And to think it's probably someone's job to write the algorithms that work this stuff out. Nice one.
 
Or it's part of a sealed pallate of iPads that will be sent to the main distribution hub to be parcelled out for final delivery.
 
I think my iPad is walking from Mira Loma, CA to me in Oregon. It's been around 14 hours since I got the shipment email and it's all the way to Oakland now! Woo hoo! Of course as I started to type this, I saw a FedEx truck pass by my window. It's like they are teasing me! Then again, that might bode well to my getting the delivery by this time tomorrow.

Oh I don't doubt that at all, just seems generally inefficient. I'm sure there's quite a few pallets worth coming to the PA area, so why not distribute from there?

I think every FedEx package that is sent in the US passes through Memphis, TN. From Memphis it is goes down to the regonional hubs. Then to your local city.
 
Mine hasn't even left the PA facility yet. It is due here (Southern New Hampshire) in less then 24 hours.
 
hmmmm,

mines in a holding pattern in Louisville Ky at the UPS Hub, after flying in from anchorage Alaska. from there its a straight shot to socal.
 
Mine has gone from Middletown PA -> Harrisburg -> Newark NJ and back to Middletown on it's way to central PA 1.5 hours north or Harrisburg. Very strange.
 
Mine is arriving via Middletown, PA to Indianapolis, IN to (I presume Charlotte, NC?) to 28025.

Yes, mine went PA, IN, PA, KY in route to the North Side of Cincinnati, OH. Not as round about as the TN to AZ, but still kinda crazy!
