Purchased brand new from Amazon uk was factory sealed I didn’t even notice it till after 30 minutes after unboxing as i was applying my screen protector and didn’t go looking for it.


Seems to me it’s absolutely nothing to do with Amazon but rather apples quality control as this has slipped through. It seems it’s around the ring of the lens on the far right camera only.

Definitely in the manufacturing process


What do you guys think and what would you do?

from that picture, I can't really tell but that does not look like a scratch to me and looks like a lint.
 
I agree with the previous posts that it looks a bit more like trapped lint. If you cannot clean it and make it go away I’d return the device and order a new one.
 
It’s not a reflection guys I will take a new photo when I get home for you guys
 
while very rare on the forums, having lint under the camera glass does happen, you can exchange at the apple store as it is considered a manufactured defect 👍

Even yet, they may not just replace the unit. They may attempt to take it apart to get to that area and blow it out if it is indeed a lint under the camera. In the event that they screw up then they will replace the unit.

Since OP purchased at Amazon, OP will not be able to return and exchange at the apple store but to use warranty replacement. Will have to return it through Amazon and get a new one.

It’s hard to see thanks to the magic of compression. Could you upload it to something like Imgur which compresses it to a lesser degree and point out the location of the scratch?
 
Ok for everyone in here. I’m taking about the right camera lens. not the top left or lower left. it’s a scratch around the circle of the lens it’s silver try and see what I’m taking about here

I think I can see that one on the bottom of the right lense. but it’s just pure aesthetic issue, wouldn’t really have issues with taking pictures but if it sure does annoy you, then I’d go return it.

Yeah that’s the thing with the wait times been around a month at the moment.. I don’t know if it’s worth it I don’t normally return my phones.
