I just woke up just now and changed the ringer to vibrate and the little silver piece just popped out. WTF?

I JUST installed the BSE invisible skins 2 days ago too. Is this an easy fix or do I have to take the phone back?

The same thing happened to me a few weeks ago. It turns out that my switch was very difficult from the beginning to move. I realized this only when I used another iPhone and noticed that it didn't take much effort to move the switch.

I tried (and failed miserably) to glue the cap back onto the switch. It takes two very very very tiny drops of superglue to put back on, which I found incredibly difficult to do even with very steady hands. Plus, you run the great risk of gluing your switch into place (which is what ultimately happened to me when I tried to fix it myself).

I just went to my nearest Apple store and the genius swapped it out without question. It's been a common enough problem with the switch, and they'll replace it for you. Make sure that you have an appointment scheduled with the genius bar, though, before you go in.

    Hope it helps.

Thank you for the quick reply!

However, I bought my iPhone from the AT&T store. Can the Apple Store still service it?

Also, do I have to take off my BSE skins (front and back) or can I leave them on and bring it back?

    Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 2_1 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/525.18.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.1.1 Mobile/5F136 Safari/525.20)

Take off the invisible skins? And apple will still replace my phone even though I bought it at the AT&T store?

Yes. I've had multiple exchanges since July 11th at the Apple store and I purchased the original at AT&T. Just bring your receipt and box<<<(just in case) and you will be just fine. :)

Thanks for all this... Mine dropped off a while back - I never use it so didn't bother getting it replaced... Making an appointment for this weekend now... Will they mind that the back is horribly scratched??
