My iPhone 3GS shipped today

According to AT&T, my iPhone 3GS shipped today. I have a FedEX tracking # and it is in FedEX's hands and they are estimating a 6/16 delivery.

Is this normal? What are the chances I will actually get the iPhone 3 days early?

Sounds like you ordered the wrong one. Any 3GS should be coming directly from Apple for 6/19 release. Makes no sense why they shipped it today.
 
It's also possible that phones are shipping and will be held by fedex until the 19th. Doesn't Apple have it's own Fedex depot in TN?
 
I don't know about ATT orders, but the Apple order page says "Ships: Delivers by June 19th". I don't expect my 3GS until Friday but you never know.
 
Fedex delivered Leopard a day early last year to some lucky people. Its not impossible, but I wouldn't expect it to be THAT early.

I'm hoping I'm that lucky. I'm leaving for a 1 week vacation very early on the 19th. 🙁

But I have a feeling those who got Leopard early were in outlying areas that Fedex doesn't visit every day. I'm in a metro area and they have plenty of drivers to deliver it on the specified date.
 
Did last year some people get there's sent early? It does happen with Apple products occasssionally...
 
I highly doubt AT&T and Apple are coordinating online orders. If it works like it has in the past, AT&T has their own allotment of iPhone 3G S's.

AT&T may choose to ship orders placed on their Web site ahead of the launch date to save on shipping costs. Obviously, ground service is cheaper than two-day or overnight.
 
I just got my 3GS in the mail! It's such an awesome phone! You guys will all love it! Sorry, I'm too busy playing with it to take pictures of it... 🙄
